MLK Avenue Streetscape Project

Working in conjunction with District 2’s City Council representative, tasks completed under this project include the installation of better lighting, the installation and repairs of sidewalks, and landscaping of MLK Avenue green spaces. The landscaping included the planting of approximately two hundred trees that will make for a more pleasant stroll along the corridor on sunny afternoons. Each of these tasks involved close collaboration between the MLKARC and other corporate, civic, and community partners such as Alabama Power, Keep Mobile Beautiful, the City of Mobile Traffic Engineering Division, and the Master Gardeners Society of Mobile.  The MLKARC is currently working with several of its community partners to identify additional streetscape enhancement projects for completion.
